Molly Johnson Reagan

Hi Class of '82:
I have been in the Philadelphia area since 1985. We started off in
the city and are now suburbanites. I work at the University of
Pennsylvania School of Medicine in a Research Institute where I am
involved in event planning. I am back full time after several years
of part time and before that, a few years as full time Mom at
home. So I have kind of done the whole range of work and family
options that we all face.
My husband, Joe, is an architect and is also here at Penn so every
once in a while we get to have lunch and catch up. We have 2
sons. Bill is graduating from high school this year and is headed to
Saint Lawrence University in Canton NY - land of ice and snow. Good
thing he is an avid snow boarder. He has always complained about our
mild Philadelphia winters so he should be happy. Bill has also
enjoyed rowing for his school which is a huge tradition here in
Philadelphia. He hopes to row in college as well although I told him
he may have to carry an ice pick in his teeth to cut through the
ice. Tim is 16 and has his learner's permit and does not understand
why he must drive the family van ("the Loser Cruiser" )-- Tim is a
sophomore and has always been a soccer player. More recently he
has joined Track and Field and just this Spring broke Sophomore
records for the long jump and the triple jump. Must be the Reagan genes!
As Joe and I are starting to have a life again after all the child
rearing chaos, we have gotten into the whole cycling craze. I will
say that Joe is a lot faster than I am, but is very patient as I try
to keep up. We hope to do some bike tours in Europe and out
West. I am really intrigued by the idea that you can eat all you
want on those trips and burn all those calories by day. We have met
some great people on our rides and our group is expanding each time
we go out. I also try to run as often as possible.
Philadelphia has gone through tremendous change since we moved
here. Joe and I talk about moving back into the city again once the
kids are off to school, but it will be hard for me to give up trees
and a yard. Plus I do love having animals so wherever we go will
have to be animal friendly!! I am really looking forward to the
Reunion and catching up with everyone. Come visit if you are in the
City of Brotherly Love!

Donna (Corazza) Williams

Hello class of 82.
I am still in the Chicago area where I moved after Brown, now living in
Lake Forest. Don and I will have our 20th wedding anniversary this September! I am also close to my 25th year working at Baxter-except for a year off to complete my MBA at Univ of Chicago. I have been in marketing most of my career, although right now I am running a new product development group of both engineers and marketing folks.
We have three kids, Grace, Jack and Joseph. Grace is 13 and heading to high school-very much interested in girl stuff (i.e. boys, clothes, make-up are the top 3) but running track, playing field hockey and singing. Jack is 11, very funny and creative, and more into nature than sports. Joseph is the image of his dad, love sports-every single one of them, and is very easy-going (which is a good thing being number 3). We also have a large extended family in Chicago-as my husband has 11 brothers and sisters, who provide lots of cousins. My family is still in NJ, and we see each other 4 or 5 times a year, over the holidays, and at the beach for summer vacation.

I am leaving full time work and Baxter, on Jun 1, and am really excited. While my work experience is still fun and challenging-I want to spend more energy at home-with my kids and on personal interests. I am still into crafts and painting, and running. I'll complete my fourth 3-Day 60 mile Walk for Breast Cancer with some friends this summer. I have always done Chicago, but we may branch out next year to another city (if anyone has ever been interested- these are just great experiences).

Will likely miss the reunion, so hope to hear some news on the blog!

Diane Hymes

Hello Friends from Brown:

I will be traveling to Providence from San Jose, Ca for our 25th reunion. I relocated to California after a prolonged stay at Brown (spent another 5 years getting my PhD in Engineering) and have never looked back.
California has been very good to me. This is where I met my husband, Todd, 15 years ago. We have one child, Ryan, who is nine years old. Fortunately, he takes after his dad and will likely be taller than me by the time he is ten.

I am working full time at a semiconductor equipment supplier called Lam Research. I have been with this company for 12 years (that’s a lifetime in Silicon Valley). Like most working parents, I juggle job, family and my own interests (which are mostly fitness related). It is a careful balance but, under control.

I have been helping the Brown admissions efforts over the past few years by volunteering as an alum interviewer. It gives me an opportunity to meet some of the high school talent from our area and to stay in touch with current admissions standards. I am hoping that, one day, it will be my son, Ryan, being interviewed.

I am fortunate to have my close friend from Brown, Julie Forbes, living only 20 miles away. We have been in constant contact for all these 25 years!

I look forward to catching up with those of you that I have not seen since my last visit to Brown which was for our 20th reunion. Until then…

Hello class of '82. I hate that I'll miss the reunion, but hope to read all about everyone on the blog page.
Since leaving Brown I have moved to North Carolina where I attended medical school at Wake Forest from 82-86. While there I met my husband Alex and we were married 2 days after graduation in 86. I did my residency in pediatrics while Alex did his in psychiatry in Winston-Salem, NC. In 1989 I joined a pediatric practice in High Point, NC (originally the "furniture capital of the world" but now we call that China!). I continue to work full time and love what I do. I'm now taking care of the children of my former patients! Alex has a solo practice in High Point and has cut back his hours in recent years so that we can take more time off together. We have a condo in Charleston, SC that we love to escape to whenever possible. In May we will celebrate our 21st anniversary (when did we get so old?).

We have three great kids. Chris, 19, is a freshman at UNC Chapel Hill (go heels!!) He is majoring in Asian Studies and Business. He will spend this summer in Singapore on a summer abroad study program. He is in the Tae Kwon Do club (he's a 4th degree black belt and has been doing this since he was 5), and also in the Adventure Club, a group that takes other students out on hiking, kayaking and climbing trips. Sean, 16, is a sophomore in an early college high school program. He will finish up most of his high school requirements this year and then take college classes at Guilford College for the next two years for dual credit. He is also active in TaeKwonDo and will test for his 4th degree black belt and "master" certification this fall. His interests are more math and science related although he also has loved his philosophy class (maybe he'll be the philosophical physicist!). Katie, 12, is in 6th grade and is mature beyond her years (something about having two older brothers). She also does TaeKwonDo, and plays volleyball for her middle school team. She is in the school chorus and has just begun voice lessons (a diva in the making!).

I will miss seeing all of you, but really look forward to hearing about your lives over the past twenty-five years. As the t-shirt says, for me Life is Good!

Julie Forbes

After 25 years of being in the San Francisco Bay Area, I'm currently living in Menlo Park, California with my greyhound, Dulce.

My work is split between marketing at a start-up software company (which keeps me on my toes, addressing new & exciting technologies, constantly learning) and teaching stress reduction, based on mindfulness meditation and yoga, at local hospitals (which keeps me grounded, balanced, living in the present). It's a gratifying mix.

Along with Dulce and friends, I spend time hiking in the abundance of open space terrain surrounding us, occasionally get to the beach, and have lots of dog-related play dates. Dulce and I also enjoy spending time raising awareness for greyhound rescue and adoption.

I am very fortunate to have a community of extended family and friends in the Bay Area that includes several Brown graduates -- all of whom I have lived with at some point during the last 25 years, before the spouses and kids arrived on the scene. Diane Hymes and her family live only 30 minutes away; Heidi Sanel and her family live around the block (literally); Jim Tomic ('81) lives across the Bay with his daughter; and Karen Melchior ('83) and her family live 15 minutes south of me. I can't imagine what my life would be like without any of them!
